Applications for the Environmental Leadership Lab now open
Department / Organization: HASS
Are you a rising Sophomore and environmental enthusiast? Apply for the free Environmental Leadership Lab camping trip.
Join environmentally-minded fellow students and faculty for the inaugural Environmental Leadership Lab! The ELL is a free camping retreat at the Rocky Mountain Land Library (near Fairplay, CO), from September 11-12. During the day, students will be able to choose from a variety of hands-on workshops from Mines professors and organizations such as the Outdoor Recreation Center. At night, we'll watch movies projected on the cookhouse wall and sleep under the stars. Don't have a tent, sleeping bag, or transportation? No problem - we can provide equipment and transportation to and from the ELL. We'll even provide meals and snacks.
The ELL is designed to be a first step into the newly launched Environmental Scholars program, which will support students in leadership roles in their junior and senior years. As such, we will give preference to rising those currently finishing their freshman year/those who will be sophomores in the fall. However, if you are a rising junior or senior that has been particularly involved in environmental issues on campus, we would love to have you apply and take a leadership role in the experience.
Applications will be accepted through April 30th and can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1V1HOWFY8UcujAABOaKU9vka7LHiIZmicCnZcyBGwp-w/edit
