Finals start today!
Finals start today, and you’ve got this, Orediggers.
Need a boost? We asked the experts (AKA Mines Betsy’s Friends Peer Educators) for some real-world self-care tips for Finals Weeks, for Orediggers, from Orediggers.
-- Take study breaks, and not just ones on your phone. Get outside, hike or eat a healthy meal to engage other parts of your body, not just your brain. It’s proven that taking 5-60 minute breaks (not on social media) increases attention span, productivity and energy. -- Don’t get distracted. Focus on one thing at a time (and put that phone on Do Not Disturb!) -- Practice self-care, whether that’s doing a face mask, working out or simply resting. -- Make sure you get plenty of sleep. The knowledge that you retain after midnight will most likely not help you in the long run on an exam, but sleep will! -- Perform random acts of kindness for those around you (maybe in your dorm, house or job). Not only will it make them feel good, it will also make you feel good. -- Worry less about what you cannot control and more about what you can. -- Finally, remember your self-worth is NOT based on a grade, exam or your GPA. You are worth more than your schooling.
