CRITICAL Dell Security Patch for Windows

To avoid an attacker taking over your Windows Dell computer, please install this security patch
Yesterday, the Office of the CIO and Susan McMillin, our Chief Information Security Officer, sent a campus-wide message announcing a critical Dell laptop and Dell desktop (Windows-only) security vulnerability. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to take over a Windows computer. For your own information safety and for the protection of the Mines network, please take the following steps.
If you own a Dell Laptop or Desktop please install this critical security patch right away. Instructions for installing this security patch can be found here: https://helpcenter.mines.edu/TDClient/1946/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=133003.
If you use an ITS-managed Dell laptop or Dell desktop, you do not need to take these steps as ITS will be performing this remediation automatically.
