Hennebach: Translation and the Lyric with poet Wayne Miller

Please join the Hennebach Program as we launch our Spring 2022 season of events with award-winning poet and translator Wayne Miller as he reads from his new poetry collection, We the Jury, and talks about the value of literary translation both broadly and in the context of his own writing. Bio: Wayne Miller is the author of five poetry collections, most recently We the Jury (Milkweed, 2021) and Post- (2016), which won the Rilke Prize and the Colorado Book Award in Poetry. He has co-translated two books by the Albanian writer Moikom Zeqo, most recently Zodiac (Zephyr, 2015), which was shortlisted for the PEN Center USA Award in Translation, and he has co-edited three books, including Literary Publishing in the Twenty-First Century (Milkweed, 2016) and New European Poets (Graywolf, 2008). He is the recipient of the George Bogin, Lucille Medwick, and Lyric Poetry Awards from the Poetry Society of America; the Bess Hokin Prize from Poetry magazine; a Ruth Lilly Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation; and a Fulbright Distinguished Scholarship to the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s University in Northern Ireland. He is a professor at the University of Colorado Denver, where he edits the national literary magazine Copper Nickel.
