Webinar on applying for undergraduate research (REU program)
Department / Organization: Physics
This webinar will give a brief overview of the REU application process followed by a panel/Q&A with REU directors & alumni
Participating in a summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program is a great way for undergraduate students to gain research experience and develop important professional and technical skills. Further, these programs can be a valuable source of professional contacts, mentorship, and allow you to explore a new topic. Even better, they pay you!
However, these programs have gotten increasingly competitive over the years and the keys to getting into one of these programs is not obvious. This webinar will cover some tips and tricks for navigating the REU application process.
The webinar is hosted by Prof. Eric Toberer from CSM (director of the Mines REU) and will include a brief overview of the application process followed by a panel discussion/Q&A starring several REU co-directors and alumni.
