Kino Club presents: High and Low (1963)
Department / Organization: Kino Club
Come join us on Friday, 1-21 at 7:00PM in BE241 for a free Akira Kurosawa movie showing.
While Akira Kurosawa is primarily known in the West for his samurai movies like Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Rashomon, Seven Samurai, and Ran, his settings in contemporary environments go widely underappreciated while still retaining his masterful touch. This film currently ranks #11 on the Lettrboxd all-time list and #79 on IMDb.
Synopsis: An executive of a shoe company becomes a victim of extortion when his chauffeur’s son is kidnapped and held for ransom.
Runtime: 2h 22min
This showing is part of a regular series put on by Kino Club. Kino Club is a student organization focused on bringing the art-house theater experience to campus free of charge to students and faculty. Whether you are a film buff or just taking an interest in the art, I am happy to welcome you.
