Campus Announcements
Did you know your Teams could be seen by everyone on campus?
Department / Organization: Compliance, Policy, and Risk Management
Setting up a Microsoft Team with public settings allows anyone at Mines, even if they aren’t a team member, to see your data.
Personal data should be protected at all times. Any Microsoft Team that stores personal data should ensure private settings are properly used, restricting team members to only those with a need to access such information. Exposure of sensitive or student data could result in a data breach. Don’t be the person who causes a breach!
Please review the Data Code of Conduct (https://www.mines.edu/policy-library/data-code-of-conduct/) and the Administrative Data Policy (https://www.mines.edu/policy-library/administrative-data-policy/) for a reminder on how to properly handle personal data.
