AEG Lunch & Learn: Nicholson Construction with Emily Trousil
Department / Organization: AEG
Join AEG TODAY *4/27 at noon in BE 106 to hear Emily's talk: Support of Excavation, Deep Foundations, and Ground Modification
Bio: I graduated from Mines in 2018 as a Geological Engineer, and I knew I was interested in design. I started working as a quality control field engineer for Nicholson Construction a few weeks after I graduated, and have gotten experience in different departments and projects over my 3.5 years with them. I spent about a year on job sites as a field engineer, some time with the estimating department, and now I have settled into the design department. I design support of excavations (various wall types and anchors), deep foundations (micropiles, augercast piles, and barrettes), ground modification (grouting and soil mixing), and slope stability. I will talk about what we do at Nicholson Construction and my path to becoming a design engineer.
