Dear Mines students,
Are you interested in interdisciplinary engagements that bring together students and faculty from STEM and humanities? Are you interested in learning qualitative research methods, and participating in a small cohort of students and faculty from diverse disciplines around ethical, social, and political questions related to science and technology in society?
Apply to become a National Science Foundation Undergraduate Research Assistant for 2022-2023 by August 15. Undergraduate Research Assistants will: ? Join our CREATE/STS research team ? Participate in a research study that involves participant observation and regular reflections ? Participate as a research assistant, which involves collecting, organizing, and analyzing qualitative data ? Help plan and facilitate hybrid workshops with participating faculty ? Develop a collaborative publication and present at a conference ? Contribute approximately 5 hours/week for 15 weeks during the fall semester, or a total of 75 hours. Fellows will be compensated $15/hour, for a total of $1125.
Requirements: ? Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in the 2022-2023 academic calendar ? Be able to participate in the planning meetings and attend the faculty workshops (scheduling TBD) Preferred: ? Humanitarian engineering and science or design engineering coursework or co-enrollment in relevant HE, HES, or BSE classes
