CSM/NREL Materials Science Seminar Today: Dr. Yiyang Li, Stanford University
Department / Organization: Materials Science
Dr. Yiyang Li will present, "Kinetics of Lithium Ion Insertion Within Individual LixFePO4 Nanoparticles" this upcoming Monday, 12/19 in HH202 at 9am. Fruit, pastries and coffee provided!
Yiyang Li grew up outside Portland, OR, and obtained his BS in Electrical Engineering at Olin College of Engineering in Massachusetts. His joined the group of William Chueh at Stanford’s Materials Science Department for his PhD, where he investigated ion insertion kinetics within battery materials. During his time at Stanford, he received the MRS Gold Graduate Student Award, the Electrochemical Society’s Daniel Cubicciotti Award, and the Electronic Materials Symposium’s Ross Tucker Memorial Award. He also taught a 60-person graduate course on batteries, and received the Walter J. Gores award, Stanford University highest teaching award. He is currently a postdoc at Stanford working on designing new smart photonic, fluidic, and thermal devices utilizing electrochemical ion insertion.
