Symposium of CS Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration '22
Department / Organization: Computer Science
CS@Mines is pleased to invite you to our first Interdisciplinary Initiative Research Workshop
The first workshop will be held Thursday, December 8th at 1-3:30pm in Brown W210. After an introduction by the CS department head, Dr. Iris Bahar, the CS faculty will give an overview of potential large funding opportunities such as DOD MURI and NSF ERC and some specific interdisciplinary research project ideas. This will be followed by a happy hour with time for networking and discussion.
The second workshop will be a working lunch held on Tuesday, December 13th at 11am-2pm in McNeil 313. There will be several invited talks based on the discussions from the Dec 8th workshop, and then graduate into a working session with small teams brainstorming possible grant ideas. The goal of these two workshops is to inspire interdisciplinary teams at Mines to submit RTT seed grants in the next cycle.
Snacks and drinks will be provided on December 8th and lunch will be provided on the 13th. We hope to see you there! Please forward this invitation to anyone we may have missed in your department that would make a good collaborator on a CS-led research project.
To attend please RSVP using the link below by Tuesday, December 6th. And if you are interested in giving a 5-minute lightning talk, please indicate on the RSVP form.
If you have any questions, please email Qi Han at qhan@mines.edu or Hua Wang at huawang@mines.edu.
