The Mines Undergraduate Research Fellowship (MURF) offers the opportunity to recruit talented undergraduate researchers.
Undergraduate Research Scholars is accepting project proposals from faculty for MURF 2023-2024! The priority deadline for submitting a MURF or IMURF project is April 3st, 2023.
MURF students receive a stipend of $1500 for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) Faculty contributions towards the MURF student awards are no longer required. Please read below for more information regarding the MURF application process:
- For your convenience, forms have a save and continue option.
- Call for student applications will be announced during the second week of April. -After the priority deadline (April 4th), all projects will be listed on the Undergraduate Research Scholars Website for students to apply. -Students can apply between April 10th and May 19th. - MURF results will be announced in the summer, and students will start research in the fall semester. - This fellowship will not pay for any research conducted during the summer semester. - Last year, 120 faculty-submitted projects were funded. - Each faculty can submit up to two requests for fellowships, but due to a limited budget, fellowships will be awarded depending on the number of student applications submitted.
