Volunteer in Research Study: Sit-to-Walk Across the Lifespan
Department / Organization: Mechanical Engineering
By volunteering as a research participant, you will help improve rehabilitation protocols in a single 3 hr session.
This study explores compensatory movements and balance control during movement transitions. We are actively recruiting interested individuals between the ages of 50 and 79.
You are not eligible for this study if you have had a recent musculoskeletal injury (i.e., in the past six months) or if you have a neurological disorder, impairment, or take medication that affects your balance.
This study will be conducted in the Functional Biomechanics Laboratory (fbl.mines.edu), located in Brown Hall, and lasts approximately 3 hours.
Come help us better inform rehabilitation protocols and reduce fall-related injuries across the lifespan. You might even learn something about your own biomechanics.
