Volunteer in Research Study: Sit-to-Walk Across the Lifespan
Department / Organization: Mechanical Engineering
By volunteering as a research participant, you will help improve rehabilitation protocols in a single 3 hr session.
This study explores compensatory movements and balance control during movement transitions. We are actively recruiting interested individuals ages 18-35 and 50-79.
You are not eligible for this study if you have had a recent musculoskeletal injury (i.e., in the past six months), if you have a neurological disorder, impairment, or take medication that affects your balance, or if you are a member of a vulnerable population (e.g., minors, pregnant woman).
This study will be conducted in the Functional Biomechanics Laboratory (fbl.mines.edu), located in Brown Hall, and lasts approximately 3 hours.
Come help us better inform rehabilitation protocols and reduce fall-related injuries across the lifespan. You might even learn something about your own biomechanics.
