"Natural gas hydrate: Is it suitable and safe to be mined as energy?" by Dr. Fulong Ning
As an alternative energy in the future, natural gas hydrates mainly distributed in submarine and permafrost regions have attracted great attentions from governments, research institutes and companies since the total carbon content in gas hydrates is twice as large as that in conventional fossil fuel available now. However, a safe and efficient approach to gas recovery remains a longstanding challenge in mining natural gas hydrate deposits. This presentation will present the fundamental knowledge of gas hydrate, the status and main challenges of mining gas hydrates in permafrost and oceans. And finally the author will present his work in this field.
