November 15th is America Recycles Day - Celebrate by sharing these recycling tips

Review these tips to improve recycling on campus

1) All plastic bottles are recyclable. Just empty the liquid and keep the cap on. No need to rinse as long as bottle is empty of liquid.

2) Plastic bags and wrap are NOT recyclable in regular recycling bins. Please return those to a local grocery store for recycling. Labs can use the plastic packaging recycling bin in the basement of Coolbaugh Hall.

3) Mines only recycles glass drink bottles and jars. Glass can be recycled infinitely with no loss in purity.

4) Cardboard boxes (please flatten) and cartons are recyclable. You can also recycle CLEAN cardboard pizza boxes. If they are greasy or cheesy, put in trash. You can tear the clean top off and recycle the top.

5) Aluminum soda cans such as Pepsi and Coke are recyclable. They prefer you do not crush the cans.
