Join the Student Advocates Against Violence and for Education (SAAVE) student organization for another introduction to self-defense training with Dr. Ali Jaffri today at 5pm in Spruce Treehouse!
This event focuses on strategies for targeted groups, but all students and staff are encouraged to come learn. Ali will be introducing the most important aspect of self-defense: situational awareness, as an introduction to his seminar. Dr. Ali Jaffri has a doctorate in Geology and is currently working on a Professional Masters here at the Colorado School of Mines. He has been involved in martial arts for the past thirty years and has trained in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Judo, Sambo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The techniques he teaches are a distillation of what actually works versus what looks great in movies. Dr. Jaffri teaches self-defense through Thumbtack and Lessons.com.
