Retirement / Restructuring / New Director Search
After 19 years of service, effective July 31, 2017, Kay Godel-Gengenbach will be stepping down as Director of the Office of International Programs (OIP). Over the years, Kay’s efforts and dedication have advanced Mines’ reputation abroad and provided our students with rich and rewarding international experiences. I want to thank Kay for all she has done for Mines, our students, and our faculty. Please be sure to do the same when you happen to see her over the upcoming months.
Additionally, effective August 1, 2017, the co-located, but administratively separate Offices of International Programs and International Student and Scholar Services will be combined into a single unit. The combined unit will simply be known as the International Office. The position that Kay occupied will be redefined as the Director of the International Office. We will immediately begin a search for a new director of the International Office. The positions currently occupied by Brandon Samter, Mary Cook, and Jessica Wade will remain as part of the International Office with duties and oversight consistent with their current roles. The newly created International Office shall report to our Associate Provost of Enrollment Management, Heather Boyd.
