Apply to be a CSM101 Mentor!

CSM101 is looking for faculty and staff Mentors for the 2017/2018 school year. This is your opportunity to positively impact the life of a first year student in a new way!
CSM101 Mentors teach twelve, one-hour classes in the fall semester. Along with two upper-division Peer Mentor students, they facilitate structured lesson plans and activities for approximately 20-25 students. Between teaching and preparation, interested Mentors should expect to dedicate 2-3 hours per week, for twelve weeks.
Mentors serve an invaluable role in welcoming first-year students to the campus. Often Mentors form lasting and rich relationships with their students that last multiple semesters and/or years. This is your opportunity – as a Mentor – to truly make a lasting difference in a student’s college experience, in a bit of a different capacity.
Throughout the teaching of the course, you are provided provide consistent training and support. No Mentor should ever feel overwhelmed or hindered by confusion or workload. For their service, Mentors are rewarded a substantial stipend in their December paycheck. Stipends for 2017 are estimated to be $850.00.
