Join SCA club for a class on medieval glass bead making. Come play with fire and glass.
Department / Organization: Students for Creative Anachronism
6:00 PM, Wed Feb 2nd. Join us in the Foundry (Hill Hall Basement) for an evening of melting glass and making beads. Why not stave off the post-break stress with an evening on the torch?
On Wednesday February 2nd, at 6:00 PM in the Foundry, Students for Creative Anachronism will be holding a class on Lampworking. As part of our weekly arts and sciences event, this evening we will be joined by The Honorable Lady Hannah D'Avila, a regular teacher for us, to learn to make glass beads using medieval techniques. Any skill level is welcome. Students who want to play on the torch will need to wear long shirts and pants of natural fibers (if it says "acrylic" or "nylon" on the label, then it's not natural fibers) and wear closed-toe shoes. Lab goggles are recommended but not mandatory. Come join us for a fun evening of smelting glass and crafting beads!
