Excused Absence Support for Students

Department / Organization: Student Life

Mines Excused Absence Policy accounts for many considerations, including religious observance.

Excused Absences may be granted for instances of jury duty, planned medical appointments or procedures, grief, military absences, parental leave and support, emergency medical situations, and personal, familial, or professional circumstances that were unexpected, unavoidable, and/or anomalous (upon review, exclusions apply).

Mines Excused Absence Policy also supports religious observance, including - but not limited to - reasonable requests related to Ramadan, Eid ul-Fitr, Diwali, Hajj, Passover, and Rosh Hashanah.

All requests are subject to review. Documentation and/or additional information may be requested. Once verified, Student Life will approve an excused absence and notify faculty. More information available via URL link.
