Social function with presentation on “Geologic hydrogen: An overlooked potential energy source” by Dr. Geoffrey Ellis (USGS)
Dear members of the Mines Chapter of Sigma Xi and friends:
You are kindly invited to a meeting on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 5pm in Marquez Hall (MZ 126). This meeting aims to bring our members together for a social function, welcome our newest members, and seek input on future activities. There will also be a talk on “Geologic hydrogen: An overlooked potential energy source” by Dr. Geoffrey Ellis (Research Geologist, USGS) at 5pm.
Refreshments will be served starting at 4:45pm. RSVP is not required and each member is strongly encouraged to bring an additional person.
We are grateful to the Colorado Geological Survey for sponsoring this event.
With this activity we continue a series of lectures under the umbrella “Science in Unexpected Places.” Our aim is to strengthen the presence of Sigma Xi at Mines and to serve the Mines research community and neighboring institutions through social gatherings, interdisciplinary talks, grant opportunities, outreach activities, and more.
