Lauren Garten is currently a post-doctoral researcher with Dr. Dave Ginley at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. She received her Ph.D. in 2015 from the Pennsylvania State University in material science. Her undergraduate education was at the University of Missouri-Rolla (now the Missouri University of Science and Technology) in ceramic engineering. In 2015 she won the DOE Office of Science Postdoctoral Research Competition and in 2016 received an outstanding mentorship award from NREL. Her work focuses on the development of new materials for energy and electronic applications, particularly at the nexus of ferroelectricity, electronics, and photovoltaics.
