Transition to Mines-Legacy Wireless and 100Gb: 7/20 6AM-9AM
Department / Organization: IT
Critical network changes impacting all users will happen this Saturday. Click the link to learn more.
As part of our ongoing Network Modernization project, which will enhance campus-wide wireless coverage and improve our academic and research network capabilities, IT will conduct network changes on Saturday, July 20th, from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m.
During this upgrade, IT will:
- Increase our internet capacity tenfold, from 10Gb to 100Gb. This is a complex upgrade. Please plan for intermittent service outages throughout this maintenance period. - Add the “Mines-Legacy” wireless network in preparation for removing “Mines” wireless.
**Important changes to connect to the internet** After our work is done on July 20, you will need to connect to “Mines-Legacy” to access the internet, as “Mines” will disappear on Sept 2 (Labor Day). “Mines” will be reintroduced building by building over the next year as our new network is rolled out.
