MNGN 398: Mining and Sustainability offered this fall will count as an undergraduate CAS (formerly H&SS) elective.
Register for MNGN 398: Special topics course titled Mining and Sustainability. It will count as a CAS (formerly H&SS) elective. The course explores the intersection of mineral extraction and environmental and social justice. Students will examine the impacts of mining on communities and the environment, strategies for addressing these impacts, and principles of responsible mining practices. Through case studies and practical examples, the course will cover topics ranging from regulatory frameworks, community engagement, and how innovative technologies may promote sustainability in the mining industry.
