DEIA Program Manager for Equity & Inclusion: Andrea Borrego

Dr. Andrea Borrego will join the DEIA Team on Aug. 8 as the new Program Manager for Equity and Inclusion
Dr. Andrea Borrego will join the DEIA at Mines Team on Aug. 8 as the new Program Manager for Equity and Inclusion. In her role as Program Manager for Equity and Inclusion, Andrea will work to advance the goals of DEIA at Mines through the development, implementation and evaluation of programs to support faculty success and improve inclusive academic culture.
Andrea R. Borrego holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and completed her MS and PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. In her previous role, Dr. Borrego, a first-generation college student, taught as a tenured professor educating students about sociopolitical, racial, and social justice issues across the criminal justice system. For the past three years, she served as department chair. Dr. Borrego’s service and work has focused on creating inclusive spaces, community building, improvement of university processes, and being an advocate. She is passionate about making higher education accessible and a positive experience for individuals with various backgrounds and identities.
