New Add/Drop Deadline

The new Deadline to Add and Drop Classes for Fall 2024 is August 28th.
In case you missed it at the end of the spring semester or over the summer, we want to make sure everyone is aware of the new add/drop deadlines on the Academic Calendar. For all important dates, please visit the Updated Academic Calendar page: https://www.mines.edu/registrar/academic-calendar/
Two years ago, the course add deadline was changed to give students only one week to add classes, to help ensure that students were registered in classes early in the semester in time to be successful, and not start the class 1-2 weeks behind the other students. The Drop deadline continued to be on ‘Census Day’. The separate dates resulted in some confusion for students so to address the concerns, the Add/Drop deadlines have been consolidated once again and will be on the 2nd Wednesday of every semester. This fall, the Add/Drop date is AUGUST 28th.
This change will give students an extra 2 days to add classes and help ensure that open seats can be filled by the drop deadline.
