He completed his Ph.D. at Caltech in 1993. Wald leads development and operations of real-time information systems including ShakeMap, Did You Feel it? , PAGER, ShakeCast, and Ground Failure. David is currently the Past Editor-in-Chief of the EERI's journal Earthquake Spectra and is an Adjunct Professor in the Geophysics at the Colorado School of Mines. He was an IRIS/SSA Distinguished Lecturer and EERI's Distinguished Lecture. About the Pathways Explorations Series The Pathways Explorations Series features large-scale, TED-style talks where motivating and inspiring speakers tell their personal, academic and professional stories to our Mines campus community. The talks are required for CSM 101 students to learn about the many possible academic and career pathways available to them. The talks are open to all Mines students, faculty and staff, and will be live-streamed and recorded.
