Student Info System (Banner) Cloud Migration Underway
Department / Organization: IT Several systems are currently inaccessible, but Canvas will remain fully available throughout.
The migration of the Banner Student Information System to a cloud-hosted version is underway and will continue through 10/30. This move will improve system reliability, scalability, and security. *Please note: Canvas will remain fully accessible throughout the transition* Since Thursday, 10/24 at 5:00pm the following systems have been offline but are expected to become available again on Wednesday, 10/30 at 8:00am: –Student Information System (Banner) –Trailhead –DegreeWorks –CourseLeaf –My Account Page/Authorized User Access (via Transact Campus) –Specific OnBase forms that rely on Banner –Student Request for Excused Absence–For students who need to request an excused absence, visit https://www.mines.edu/student-life/student-absences/ Additional Info: –Geode Course Schedule has been replaced by the Banner “Plan Ahead” tool. Here are instructions on how to use it once the Student Information System becomes available again: https://www.mines.edu/registrar/wp-content/uploads/sites/51/2024/10/SSB9-Registration-Plans-User-Guide-1.pdf –Cognos has been replaced by Tableau, which will remain active during the transition with data from 10/24. Full data refreshes resume on 10/31 –Canvas Course Names and Codes have been locked and will, likely on Tuesday, 10/29, reset to the default values established by the registrar to maintain alignment with the Mines Course Catalog.
