Scholarship opportunity for undergraduates!
Department / Organization: Center for Space Resources
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation will offer two scholarships ($15,000 each) for the 2025-2026 academic year
Undergraduate students & faculty supervising their work: Mines is a member of the prestigious Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF). This organization awards scholarships to outstanding students who exhibit motivation, imagination, and exceptional performance in the fields of engineering, mathematics and the applied sciences. This year there will be 2 scholarships ($15,000 each) awarded to Mines students for the 2025-2026 year.
Any junior or senior student (by Fall 2025) who is a US citizen and majoring in any discipline at Mines is eligible for this scholarship (special consideration is NOT given to students intending to pursue careers as astronauts). The additional requirement is that students should have conducted a considerable amount of work outside the classroom, such as laboratory research, cooperative education, internships, relevant military experience, entrepreneurial endeavors, and/or independent work.
Thus, students must be nominated by a professor who knows them well. An application form should be filled out by the professor with help from the student and sent to my email address (aabbudma@mines.edu). Please contact me to send you all application material.
Nominations will be reviewed internally by a faculty committee. The deadline for internal submission is March 7, 2025. The committee will select the top 4 applicants and send them to ASF who will select and award scholarships to our best 2 candidates.
