You're Invited! SWE Hosts The Continuum
Department / Organization: Society of Women Engineers The Continuum is a celebration honoring graduates. Students earn a rose, bud vase, and recognition as they cross the stage.
In the spring of 1999, Susan Rainey, a graduating SWE member, met with a small group of SWE members, administrators, and alumnae to discuss the idea of creating a special event to honor graduating students, as well as recognize the accomplishments of students at Mines—past, present and future. As a result, this group decided to name the event The Continuum, and held the first celebration on April 7, 1999. At The Continuum, graduating students are recognized and given a red rose and Mines bud vase.
