April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During the month of April, the SHAPE Office will be sharing information, resources, and hosting events to empower the Mines community to combat interpersonal violence on campus.
Did you know?
- 1 in 4 females and 1 in 26 males report that they have experienced completed or attempted rape.
- It is estimated that 734,630 people experienced rape in the U.S. in 2018 (including threatened, attempted, or completed rape).
- Sexual assault disproportionately affects marginalized groups including non-Hispanic American Indian, Alaska Natives, and non-Hispanic multiracial women
