Sexual Assault Awareness Month: April Events!

Support survivors and help combat sexual and interpersonal violence during the month of April by attending these events!
April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During April, the SHAPE Office invites you to attend these events and help empower the Mines community to combat interpersonal violence on campus.
4/9-Clothesline Project in Student Center Atrium from 12pm-2pm: Decorate a t-shirt with the SHAPE Office and Betsy’s Friends Peer Educators for our campus awareness clothesline display in support of survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence.
4/10-Empowerment Self Defense in Spruce Treehouse from 2pm-4pm: Join Betsy’s Friends Peer Educators, O-STEM, MAC, and CLSA in hosting Rachel Piazza for a 2-hour practice.
4/15- Respect to Connect in Marquez 204 from 4pm-5pm- Dive into effective ways to chat with your partner(s) about sex, boundaries, consent, and your needs in a relationship with Student Wellness and Promotion.
4/24-Take Back the Night in Student Center Ballrooms B & C from 5pm-7:30pm: Uplift survivor voices and join the SHAPE office in hosting esteemed poet Ebony Stewart, followed by an evening of survivor story sharing, self-care, and a resource fair.
4/30- Annual Denim Day Photo at the Guggenheim Hall Steps at 12:45pm: Visibly show your support for survivors of sexual assault by wearing denim and joining the SHAPE Office for the annual Denim Day photo. We encourage creativity with your denim outfits!
