What is VIPER?
Vertically Integrated Projects in Experiential Research (VIPER) offers an exciting opportunity for undergraduates to engage in ambitious, long-term, large-scale multidisciplinary research projects led by Mines faculty.
VIPER teams consist of undergraduate students from various years, disciplines, and backgrounds, working closely with faculty in their areas of scholarship and exploration.
About VIPER Quantum Materials Discovery:
Join our team in pursuit of new quantum materials! In the process, you will learn inorganic synthesis and fundamental characterization techniques, that are used across multiple domains of materials science. The course is designed to foster growth of early undergraduate students as scientists and future leaders.
How to apply: Follow the link below to submit a VIPER application to the Quantum Materials Discovery team.
Who can apply: First-year and Sophomore students. Preferred majors: Materials science, Chemistry, physics, Metallurgical and Materials engineering, Mechanical engineering. All majors welcome!
When: Fall 2025, 2 credits
Preferred application deadline: April 17th
