Department / Organization: University Honors & Scholars
There's an exciting opportunity to join the second cohort of Future Energy Scholars!
This University Honors & Scholars program is an academic pathway of distinction for undergraduate students that focuses on the complex social and technical story of our energy future. Each year, 12 Future Energy Scholars will be selected to join the program for the duration of their time at Mines. Each will have opportunities that will support them on their journey of becoming a leader in the future of energy. These opportunities include an option to further apply for honors enrichment awards of up to $5000 per year to support their development as future energy leaders. Scholars will also take courses and engage with conferences, summits, and symposiums to develop technical, policy, leadership, communication, and diplomacy skills in global energy issues. The Future Energy Scholars program follows the Coursework, Leadership, Application, Synthesis, and Story (CLASS) framework which provides hands-on, project-based experience through opportunities such as internships, research, and communication workshops while building vertical integration and connectivity with scholars across cohorts with each group playing a mentorship role.
