Getting started with DBER workshop
Department / Organization: CBE
Learn how to scientifically assess your courses and teaching with the getting started in DBER workshop!
If you are interested in learning how to scientifically assess your courses and teaching to improve student outcomes consider taking part in the following three-part workshop series!
The workshop series will be held in Fall 2025 on Mondays Sept 8, Oct 6, and Nov 10 from 12 to 1pm on Zoom. Workshops will cover all aspects of getting started with DBER, including writing a research question and hypothesis, study design, IRB/HSR approvals, quantitative vs qualitative data collection and analysis, and publishing your DBER results. The workshop series is facilitated by Justin Shaffer with funding provided by the Fryrear Chair for Innovation and Excellence.
Anyone who attends all three sessions will have one year of membership to a professional DBER organization (e.g. ASEE) paid for. If you cannot attend all three workshops this fall they will be offered again in Spring 2026.
