Students will study and analyze different dimensions of community and sustainable development and the role that engineering plays in them.
Graduate students will assess the strengths and limitations of ESCD criteria and how these might inform their thesis, practicums, and projects. This course will prepare them for subsequent courses in the MS or graduate certificate in Humanitarian Engineering and Science (HES), especially for their Research Theses, Practicums, or non-HES theses.
