Your Mines Library is Preserving Government Information
Department / Organization: Library
As preservation stewards, Arthur Lakes Library supports American democracy now and in the future. Click here to learn more!
The Government Publications section at the Arthur Lakes Library at Colorado School of Mines has been officially enrolled in the Preservation Steward Program since July 2018. This is a further step in its work with the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) to promote and preserve the documents produced by the Government Publishing Office (GPO). Membership in the Preservation Steward Program carries the commitment to retain copies of the committed publications, ensuring they are freely available to students, our patrons, and the public.
At Mines, in addition to extensive collections of publications from the US Geological Survey, NASA, US Bureau of Mines, the Department of Energy, and the Army Corps of Engineers, documents currently provided include special interest titles, some examples being Life into Space - Space Life Sciences Experiments, Colorado Big Thompson (water) Project documents published by the Government Printing Office, Trials of War Criminals - Nuremberg Military Tribunal, the Panama Canal Report, and Celebrating 30 Years of the Space Shuttle Program.
