1. Essential Workplace Conversations: Sept 4th
Difficult conversations in the workplace are common, however, initiating and engaging in those conversations can be challenging for many. Learn how making small, strategic adjustments in your communication will lead to more effective and productive conversations. Through class discussion and practice scenarios, you will learn techniques to initiate, and successfully complete difficult conversations.
2. Supervisor Toolkit Introduction Sessions: Sept 10th & 23rd Being a supervisor is extremely rewarding work, but it is not always easy. It requires you to guide your team while balancing the needs of our organization, which at times can be challenging. That is why the Human Resources (HR) department has developed a Mines’ Supervisor Toolkit. The toolkit is a concise resource that outlines various supervisor responsibilities and introduces you to your HR partners. Members of the HR team are knowledgeable and available to help you navigate issues related to areas including, but not limited to, recruitment, staff retention, performance management, benefits and leaves, and various employee relations matters.
HR will be hosting two sessions this September to introduce this new toolkit to campus. You can find the toolkit on the new Manager’s Resources page on the HR website designed to be a one stop shop for managers and their HR related needs.
