Welcome to Cyber Security Awareness Month
Department / Organization: IT
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is here, and it’s time to learn how to keep secure from AI threats!
Social engineering is just the tip of the iceberg.
Hackers and scammers are using the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to supercharge their attacks and make phishing emails even more convincing!
You need to be well-versed in these threats both as you navigate study/work life and down time. Upgrade the knowledge gained in Level 1 last week with the threats that AI poses. Check out our Information Security Website to learn: • What new scam possibilities the rise of AI technology brings • How AI-powered attacks occur • How to look out for AI-based scams and what to do about them
Are you sure you can spot a deep fake? How has AI changed social engineering? Join us this week to learn more about the security concerns and uses for AI. Test your Information Security knowledge at our in-person physical security and social engineering demo from 11am-1:30pm on October 15th at Maple Plaza or at our on-line trivia event on October 21st.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to security@mines.edu
Thanks, and look for more cybersecurity content all this month!
