Juan Ramón Jiménez is a Nobel Prize Winning poet of the 20th century. He wrote one of his most popular works Platero y Yo (Platero and I) in 1914, which contains over 130 proses about a boy and his close friend, Platero – a donkey. After the author’s death in 1954, Italo-Jewish composer, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, composed a set of music based on 28 of the poems in Platero y Yo for guitar and narration in 1960. Nine of the 28 pieces are performed here by internationally renowned guitarist Masakazu Ito and is accompanied by the writers Seth Brady Tucker and Mairead Case as narrators.
