Career, Training and Professional Development Opportunities
Want to help students with interview preparation?
Department / Organization: Career Center
The Career Center needs volunteers to support with practice interviewing.
As part of the CSM 250: Engineering Your Career Path course, the Career Center is seeking faculty and staff to join our many alumni volunteers in conducting mock interviews with students.
When: November 4th from 5:30-7pm
Where: Either in-person (the Boettcher room in the Library) or virtually (zoom)
What: All students registered in CSM 250 (roughly 130 undergrads) must do a mock interview as a course assignment. We offer this drop-in night for them to complete the assignment and be challenged to interview with someone they don't know (mimicking a real interviewing environment). Interviewers will lead students through a guided 4-5 question interview focused on general/behavioral questions, and provide feedback at the end. No prior experience leading interviews needed, and training will be provided.
Sign me up! To volunteer, email Katy Armstrong, karmstrong@mines.edu, and indicate whether you prefer to join virtually or in-person.
