BCBS Meeting with Guest Speaker Joost Groot!
Department / Organization: Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Society (
Come join BCBS on 10/27 for a talk with Joost Groot, a Computational Biology Consultant and founder at Applied SysBio LLC.
This week, we have Joost Groot visiting us with all of us knowledge as a bioinformatician and a computational biologist. Come prepared with any and all questions you may have for an industry leader!
General: The Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Society is a student-led organization dedicated to bridging the gap between biology, computer science, and data-driven discovery. Our mission is to build a collaborative community where students can explore the tools and applications of computational biology like genomics and systems biology to public health and environmental science. Through workshops, guest speakers, research opportunities, and industry connections, we provide members with hands-on experience and career insight in this rapidly growing field. Whether you’re a student curious about coding, or a student interested in life sciences, our society offers a space to learn, collaborate, and apply computational approaches to real-world biological challenges. Have fun!
