Please review your student employees' contracts immediately for upcoming or past end dates.
As the Fall semester and winter break quickly approach, please review your student employees’ contracts for upcoming end dates.
For Student Workers that will be returning to their position next semester but currently have a December end date:
• Process an Extension: If the student will return to their position next semester, please process a contract extension now. • Avoid Gaps: Ensure the new contract dates are continuous with no breaks in employment. • Monitor Workday: Check your Workday inbox to track the extension process to ensure it moves through the process flow to completion. • Remind Students: Prompt the student to log into Workday to timely complete their required tasks (questionnaire and offer acceptance).
For Separating Student Employees:
• Process a Separation: If the student's employment will end as of their current contract end date, please process a separation as soon as possible.
Important Note: If an extension or separation is not finalized at least 5 days ahead of the current End Employment Date, the student's contract will be ended/terminated as of the contract end date.
Contract end dates can be viewed on the employee's profile in Workday on the "Job" page in the "End Employment Date" field or by running the "CSM Current Worker Detail with End Date" report.
