Volunteer for the High School Science Bowl on March 14th!

The National Lab of the Rockies hosts the DOE sponsored Colorado High School Science Bowl and is seeking volunteers.
The Colorado Regional High School Science Bowl provides an opportunity for students to develop science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills in a non-classroom setting. Winners of the event will be invited to compete at the National Science Bowl in DC!
HSSB volunteers receive breakfast and lunch (plus a t-shirt) in addition to the joy of seeing 16-year-old kids solve differential equations in 3.4 seconds!

The event will be on March 14, 2026, at MSU Denver. There will be two training sessions at NLR in February — Feb. 5 at 3 PM and Feb. 11 at 3:30 PM (if you can not make either of these, that is okay! You can reach out to Tom Mason (tom.mason@nrel.gov).
