Learn to Save a Life! Attend a Suicide Prevention Training
Department / Organization: Student Wellness Promotion
RSVP in OreConnect for suicide prevention trainings taking place throughout spring semester. First ones are 2/9 and 2/24!
Are you interested in learning the steps and resources to save someone’s life from suicide? Please consider attending a QPR suicide prevention training this spring. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — 3 simple steps that anyone can learn. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to connect someone to appropriate help.
If you attended a QPR training 3 or more years ago, we encourage you to join again, as some campus and local resources have changed in recent years. If you've attended in the past 3 years and would like a review, please consider joining our "Refresher" training on March 17.
Please RSVP in OreConnect at least a week before the training date so that we can finalize attendance numbers. Thanks for helping to make Mines a supportive community!
