Topic: Innovation & Constructability

This presentation outlines BNBuilders’ approach to leveraging innovation, BIM, and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) to improve constructability, coordination, and project outcomes across the full project lifecycle. It distinguishes BIM as the data-rich modeling of building elements and VDC as the strategic use of those models for planning, cost, scheduling, and risk mitigation, emphasizing early and targeted model use to foresee conflicts, clarify design intent, and support informed decision-making. The presentation highlights constructability as a proactive discipline focused on understanding existing conditions, validating design accuracy, and addressing coordination gaps between models and construction documents through laser scanning, trade model evaluation, and phased coordination. By integrating design, MEP, site logistics, and augmented/virtual reality workflows, BNBuilders demonstrates how technology-driven coordination—applied at the right time—reduces rework, controls cost and schedule risk, and positions the firm to address industry-wide challenges and future opportunities in an evolving construction landscape.
