Join ISEE for a guest presentation by David Wong, engineer at U.S. Army - DEVCOM AC who will present on safety considerations for handling and processing energetic materials. Free Anthony's pizza will be provided. Open to all majors!

Bio:
Mr. David Wong is an engineer with over 20 years of experience at the U.S. Army - DEVCOM AC, with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University and M.B.A. from Florida Institute of Technology. He has over 7 years of experience in the Propulsion Research Branch, 3D printing energetic materials using thermoplastic and UV curable feedstocks. Currently, David serves at the project lead, project manager, 3D printing engineer, CAD modeler, and charge designer.

Synopsis:
Handling and processing energetic materials inherently is a dangerous task. However, proper precautions and awareness can mitigate or eliminate a significant portion of the hazards. This briefing will shed light on what standards exist, where to find them, ignition sources, and typical solutions to reduce the risks.
