Department / Organization: University Honors & Scholars Attend the Symposium April 22nd and April 23rd to learn what Mines' undergraduate students have been researching!
The Office of Undergraduate Research invites the Mines community to attend the 2026 Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium! The Symposium will be held in person on Wednesday, April 22nd and Thursday, April 23rd in the Student Center Ballrooms. All students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to join us in celebrating our hardworking undergraduate researchers and their dedicated mentors! Wednesday, April 22nd - Poster Session #1: 9:30am-11am (Student Center Ballrooms A, B, C) Departments Presenting: Applied Math and Statistics, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Economics and Business, Engineering, Design & Society, Electrical Engineering, Geology and Geological Engineering, Geophysics, Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Physics - Lunch Keynote Lecture: 12-1pm (Student Center Ballrooms D & E) with Dr. Steven Dandaneau, "Undergraduate Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" (Lunch to be served) - Poster Session #2: 2pm-3:30pm (Student Center Ballrooms A, B, C) Departments Presenting: Chemical and Biological Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Thursday, April 23rd - Oral Session: 11am-2pm (Student Center Ballrooms A, B, C) - Research Mentor Talk: 3-4pm (Student Center Ballrooms D & E) with Dr. Tom Williams, "Running a Successful Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Research Group" (Appetizers to be served) Go to this website for more information: https://www.mines.edu/undergraduate-research/ugresearchsymposium/
