April is EarthDay Month - commit to saving water this month
Department / Organization: Sustainability Save water by reducing daily usage through actionable habits
April is EarthDay Month. Commit to saving water by reducing daily usage through actionable habits. Indoor Conservation: o Shower Smart: Shorten showers to save water and energy. o Fix Leaks: Repair leaky faucets, pipes, and toilets promptly. o Efficient Washing: Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads. o Turn Off the Tap: Turn off water while brushing teeth or shaving to save up to 300 gallons a month. Outdoor Conservation: o Smart Landscaping: Plant climate-appropriate, drought-tolerant plants. o Smart Watering: Water early in the morning, use drip irrigation, or install weather-based irrigation controllers. o Clean Wisely: Use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks. Lifestyle Changes: o Reuse: Swap single-use bottled water for a refillable container. o Eat Mindfully: Reduce food waste, as a significant amount of water is used in food production.
